Parenting Time Calendar - Generally

This calculator adds to the suite of family law tools in the FinPlan family.  You can quickly determine how much time the non-custodial parent (NCP) will be spending with each of the children. In states where credit is provided to the NCP for time spent with his or her children, this tool will identify with complete accuracy either the % of time spent with the children, or the total number of days.

Field entries are quick and simple.  Enter the child's name, date of birth, and then start selecting days the NCP will spend with the child(ren).  Use this tool for negotiating and setting up the parenting plan. Then print the calendar for your client's records or for the court as part of the parenting plan..

Entering Case Facts

Entering case facts is quick and simple.  See each of the field descriptions below. The case facts entered will be used for printing the available report.

Schedules

The Schedules section of the Parenting Time Calendar is where you will create a schedule for the child(ren). There is one schedule per child. You may enter up to 9 schedules per case.  See a detailed description of each field below.

Child(ren) with Noncustodial Parent. Displays the percentage and number of days with the noncustodial parent.  If there is more than one schedule and more than schedule is selected, the totals displayed will average the total result.

Add Client Notes. Use this option to enter notes pertaining to the parenting schedule. The Client Notes will appear at the end of the calendar.

Creating the parenting schedule

To work in the calendar, you must first select at least one child’s schedule. When the child’s row is selected, you may work in the lower half of the screen by selecting dates or using the Options frame to select preset formulas.

Note: The first row is automatically checked by default.

Create a schedule for each child. If the parenting time will differ select only one schedule at a time and enter dates. If parenting time would be the same for each child, check each box that applies.  This will create a duplicated schedule for each child, while reducing duplicated entries and time.  You will have the option of printing a separate schedule for each child, or printing one combined schedule and renaming the title of the schedule (described later).

Tip! If you find that when there is more than one child and some of the days may differ only slightly, only check the row of the child that you want to change and select the additional desired dates.
